Felix

Felix - One Dane at a Time

This boy’s name is Felix, which is Roman for “lucky.” 🍀 He came in as a stray and was in need of rescue for some medical issues so OF COURSE we took him in. Also, as well all know, Danes don’t do well in shelters, especially not when the temps reach triple digits… the chances of bloat are high and it DOES happen! His ears look the way they do because someone decided to basically mutilate them for no reason, and since they never bothered to tape/post them appropriately, and this is what happened (the least of his issues). He also has an ulcerated area with some swelling on his front leg and what the shelter called a “mummified” tail… yes, that IS exposed bone. Despite his condition, this boy is as sweet as they come!!!! He loves giving kisses and snuggles and is a total lovebug!!! He really enjoyed his bath yesterday, especially since it was triple digits where he was located, and during his bath our incredible foster removed over 40 foxtails (no doubt there are probably more we can’t see)!!!
