Aries

Aries - One Dane at a Time

Aries came to us at 4 weeks old as an underweight, 4lb bag of bones with a horrible coat with patches of fur missing and regurgitating after every meal. Well, I am happy to report that she is now 36 lbs, her coat is GORGEOUS and shiny and she is “healthy.” This little one is without a doubt a fighter! She is FULL of sass and is always putting all the others in check! Her favorite things are food and snuggles! At her follow up appt for megaesophagus and further diagnostics, we received some good news; Dr. Bleifer’s exact words were, “I had to look at her chart because her beautiful markings seemed familiar, they’re just BEAUTIFUL, but I couldn’t believe she was the same emaciated puppy I saw a few weeks ago! Good job! Proud of you both! She looks GREAT!” Seriously, I can’t tell you what that meant! I am thrilled that all the hard work is paying off and that she is doing well, not only in my eyes, but also in the eyes of such an experienced practitioner. The OTHER great news is that her x-rays show significant improvement!!! YAY!!!! In terms of officially “ruling her out” for Wobblers, she is still too young for that, so we will keep watching her closely, but Dr. Bleifer doesn’t see any issues with her gait, so we will manage it with an anti-inflammatory for now and see if it resolves. Sooooo happy that the possibility exists for this girl to get adopted and have a “normal” life!

Aries has an ongoing campaign with our friends at CUDDLY where you can buy things off her wishlist and/or donate towards her ongoing medical care. One of Aries’ favorite things is Honest Kitchen grain inclusive dehydrated raw foods. Thank you to all our followers and supporters! NONE of this would be possible without YOU!

We are still learning about Aries health, but we would be open to a medically experienced and committed foster or adopter for her. If you’re interested in either fostering or adopting Aries, submit an application and specifically mention her name.
