Bentley - One Dane at a Time

Bentley is our STUNNING 2 year old mismarked mantle boy that collapsed at the park, received CPR from his AMAZING foster and was evaluated at UC Davis. Sadly, the news wasn’t good for this boy. After being evaluated by the Cardiology team at UC Davis it was found that he has a mass on his aorta. The vet said this is an EXTREMELY rare condition and that there is nothing that can be done for it. It will occasionally obstruct blood flow so he will just collapse. We even had him go home on a holter monitor to monitor his cardiac rhythm over a 24 hour period, hoping that if there was an arrhythmia we could at least treat that… but his rhythm was fine. Sadly, there is nothing that can be done to treat or manage this condition. So, we are making him a forever foster, or “fospice” (foster/hospice) and committing to keep him with ODAAT until his time comes, which could be in 8 days… 8 weeks… 8 months… or 8 years! There’s no telling. Luckily, the vet said that when this condition does eventually take him, it will be “sudden” and he will not suffer. So, it is with a heavy heart that I am asking for someone to step up and take this boy into their home and shower him with love and affection for as long as he may have, and he will remain an ODAAT dog and we will cover expenses. Bentley is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered walks well on a leash, housebroken, crate trained, does well with dogs and is learning to like cats. Can YOU find it in your heart to take this boy in until the end?
